BARACLUDE (Entecavir), is a prescription medicine used to treat chronic (long-term) hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Entecavir reduces the amount of hepatitis B virus (HBV) in the body.

Entecavir have to take orally once a day on an empty stomach (at least 2 hours after a meal or at least 2 hours before the meal).

* Compensated Liver Disease:

– Nucleoside inhibitor therapy naive adults and adolescents 16 years of age:  0.5 mg orally once daily
– For Lamivudine refractory or known Lamivudine or Telbivudine resistance substitutions: 1 mg orally once daily
– Decompensated liver disease patient (adult) : 1 mg orally once daily.
