Indication:

Patients with symptoms related to functional gastro-entero-pancreatic endocrine tumors can be treated with Sandostatin® if their symptoms are well controlled on s.c. treatment with Sandostatin. These tumors include:
• Carcinoid tumors that cause the carcinoid syndrome.
• VIPomas.
• Glucagonomas.
• Gastrinomas/Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
• Insulinomas, for controlling low blood sugar before surgery and for maintenance therapy.
• GRFomas. Patients with advanced Neuroendocrine Tumors of the midgut or unknown primary tumor location can be treated with Sandostatin® if they do not have non-midgut tumors.

Dosage:

Octreotide has to inject under the skin, usually 2 to 3 times a day.
