Rydapt (Midostaurin) is a prescription medicine used to treat certain types of blood cell cancer (acute myeloid leukemia- AML) that is newly diagnosed FLT3 mutation positive as detected by an FDA-approved test. Midostaurin is also used to treat aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasm (SM-AHN), or mast cell leukemia (MCL).
Midostaurin have to take orally twice daily with food.
Side Effects
The most common side effects are:
Febrile neutropenia (low level of white blood cells with fever), nausea, redness, pain, vomiting, headache, bruising, muscle or bone pain, nose bleeds, hyperglycemia (high blood sugar levels), upper respiratory infection, QT prolongation (abnormal electrocardiogram), diarrhea, constipation, fever.
