Midostaurin, generic Rydapt is a prescription medicine used to treat certain types of blood cell cancer (acute myeloid leukemia- AML) that is newly diagnosed FLT3 mutation positive as detected by an FDA-approved test. Midostaurin is also used to treat aggressive systemic mastocytosis (ASM), systemic mastocytosis with associated hematological neoplasm (SM-AHN), or mast cell leukemia(MCL).
Midostaurin is a drug that blocks multiple protein kinases and has been studied for treating acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and advanced systemic mastocytosis. It is marketed as Rydapt & Tauritmo by Novartis and is a partly synthetic version of staurosporine, an alkaloid from the bacterium Streptomyces staurosporeus.

Dosage:                               

Midostaurin has to take orally twice daily with food.
Do not take another dose at that time if you throw up after taking a dose. Follow your usual dosing schedule for your next dose.
